Using the 'onstat' utility to monitor disk usage and performance.
During this training we demonstrate how to use the 'onstat' utility to monitor the performance of disk utilisation for a OneDB server.
Course Outcome:
The database server provides tools and utilities that capture snapshot information about your configuration and performance. You can use these utilities regularly to build a historical profile of database activity, which you can compare with current operating-system resource-utilization data. These comparisons can help you discover which database server activities have the greatest impact on system-resource utilization. At the end of this training you will know how to implement monitoring of the OneDB Server using the 'onstat' utility and some of it parameters.
Course Style:
The training is provided in a step by step style providing you with best practice advice and guidance.
Audience:
For System or Database Administrators who have responsibility for maintaining the Corporate OneDB database estate.
Prerequisites:
- You are using the minimum version of Database software which is: OneDB 2.0.1.3 and/or HCL Informix 14.10.FC10
