About this course

At the end of this course you will:
Understand how to correctly and successfully deploy the Actian Licensing utilities and generated license file into a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) VM Instance with a single or multiple NIC.
Course Style:
The course provides step-by-step instructions for:
  • Generating an SSH Key Pair and how to store the public file into your GCP project.
  • Create a GCP VM Instance and instal the Actian Licensing Utilities.
  • Gathering the VM Instance information to include the NIC MAC address utilising the Actian Licensing utilities.
  • Deploying the Actian License license.xml file into a GCP VM Instance and confirming the license is valid.
  • Confirming that the NIC MAC address remains unchanged when the VM Instance is restarted.
  • In terms of Actian Licensing we demonstrate decommissioning one VM Instance and replacing it with a new VM Instance.
Audience:
For Database Administrators or System managers who have a responsibility to ensure VM Instances deployed via GCP are correctly licensed for Actian software deployment.
Prerequisites:
The course content assumes:
  • Access exists to a Google Cloud Platform account which allows for VM instance provisioning.
