Bring Your Own Actian Licenses (BYOL) into a VM Instance with a single or multiple NICs deployed via AWS

About this course

At the end of this course you will:

Understand how to correctly and successfully deploy the Actian Licensing utilities and generated license file into an AWS VM Instance with a single or multiple NIC.

Course Style:

The course provides step-by-step instructions for:

Create both a single NIC and multiple NIC AWS VM Instance and instal the Actian Licensing Utilities.
Gather the VM Instance information to include the NIC MAC address utilising the Actian Licensing utilities.
Deploying the Actian License license.xml file into an AWS VM Instance and confirming the license is valid.
Confirming that the NIC MAC address remains unchanged when the VM Instance is restarted.
In terms of Actian Licensing we demonstrate decommissioning one VM Instance and replacing it with a new VM Instance.

Audience:

For Database Administrators or System managers who have a responsibility to ensure VM Instances deployed via AWS are correctly licensed for Actian software deployment.

Prerequisites:

The course content assumes:

Access exists to an AWS account which allows for VM instance provisioning.
Access to the latest Actian Licensing Utilities via the Actian software download portal - ESD.
